Hello. This is Jack from tofluency.com, and in this English lesson, I want to share a quote that will give you inspiration for your English learning. Here is the quote: There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. Now, a shortcut means faster alternative routes or a quicker way to do things. So, what this quote is saying is that if you have an ideal goal if you have a worthwhile goal – something that is difficult to do – then don’t look for the shortcuts instead focus on what you need to do in order to reach that goal.

Now, this is important for English learners because as an English Learner I’m sure that you have seen so many advertisements that say learn English in seven days or speak fluent English in two weeks and it’s tempting to think that these programs and courses are going to solve your problem; that you’re going to reach the level that you want to reach in a very short space of time. However, as I’m sure you already know, it takes time to reach a high level of English. It takes time to speak with confidence and to become fluent.

So, when you do see these advertisements – when you do see people saying learn English in a week – then know that something isn’t quite right, that you aren’t going to take this course and then suddenly you’re fluent. So, don’t try to look for too many shortcuts and as the saying goes: if it’s too good to be true, it probably is. However, know that there are certain things that you can do to speed up this process; things that you can do to reach the level you want to get to faster. For example, I have a method which is called the sentence method, and this helps you internalize grammar and learn new words and phrases, and if you use this method on a daily basis, then you’re going to improve faster. You’re going to make faster progress to English fluency.

Now, you can learn more about this method by clicking the link in the description, and you can read exactly how to implement this into your daily learning. Now, what I want you to do after checking out that link is to let me know what you think of this quote. Let me know if you agree with this quote or if you disagree with it – and make it specific to English. So, thank you for watching, please share this with anyone who would find it useful, and let me know if you have any questions. Speak to you soon!
