Just About to Do Something

In the example I gave, I said the following:

“I’m just about to do some work, but I wanted to show you this amazing view on this beautiful day.”

This means that I was at the point of doing some work, it was going to happen in the near future. Here are three more examples:

  • “I can’t talk now, I’m just about to enter a meeting.”
  • “It’s just about to rain. Let’s go inside.”
  • “He was just about to say something interesting when someone interrupted.”

Note: We can use this phrase without the word just. Using just adds emphasis.
