Hello! This is Jack from, and in this English lesson, we’re going  to look at another adjective plus preposition example, and in this case it’s going to be: committed to – committed to something or committed to doing something, and you can see I’ve just given a quick example here: committed to learning. So, we’re going to look at the structure now and then, I’ll show you lots of examples when we use the adjective committed. It’s very common to use it with the preposition to as well.

So, this is what it looks like: to be committed to something or to be committed to doing something. So again, when were using the adjective and preposition, it’s common to use the gerund here – ing – doing. So, let’s look at some more examples now.

On your screen, you can see a personal trainer and he’s committed to helping people. So again, he is committed to helping people. Here’s an example from my life: I’m committed to growing my business, so I am focused on this. I have committed to growing my business. Here is an example with a noun: they’re very committed to this project. They’re very committed to this project. And here is another example, but in this case, we’re using going to: I’m going to commit to my new diet. I’m going to commit to my new diet.
